SUSTAINABILITY

The textile industry is often named as one of the major contributors to climate change. As members of this industry, we want to be part of the solution, and so:

We are dedicated to doing everything in our power to change the paradigm.

Motivated to adopt a more responsible stance, we have defined an action plan to ensure that our carbon footprint decreases. Following the global goal of decarbonizing the world's economies, based on the Paris Agreement in 2015, we are committed to contributing to carbon neutrality by 2050 with measures already defined and adopted.

Our environmental commitments

Reduction of water consumption

The installation of a Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant allows for the reuse of more than 70% of the water consumed. This promotes the efficient use of water resources, as well as raising awareness for the adoption of environmentally sustainable behaviors - thus reinforcing the circular economy policy applied by MCS.

Energy efficiency

Use of a photovoltaic system on the roof of the production unit, thus prioritizing the use of sunlight and consequently achieving considerable savings in energy consumption and a reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

MCS also uses a building with high thermal efficiency, reducing energy consumption in the air conditioning of the industrial area. We are also committed to the replacement of all existing lighting by LED lights with motion sensors, to avoid any waste.

Saving resources

Prioritization of the consumption of sustainable raw materials and the use of means of transportation of people and goods based on renewable energies.

Recycling and reuse of packaging, reducing the consumption of plastic and favoring the consumption of recycled and recyclable materials.

Our social commitment

We do not neglect the true meaning of "sustainability".

Sustainability is an environment that allows the development of present generations while guaranteeing the needs of future generations.

Thus, for a human enterprise to be sustainable it must go beyond being ecologically sound and economically viable - it must be socially just and culturally diverse.

In this sense, MCS promotes ethical behavior based on the values of honesty, transparency and integrity, promoting human rights, fundamental labor rights and safety principles.

We are aware of the relationship that exists between the economy, society and the environment, and we believe that the company's success depends on outstanding performance in all three areas.
